Churches and synagogues are among the buildings that have been destroyed in the deadly wildfires, and that includes several Catholic churches and schools. Corpus Christi Church in Pacific Palisades posted a photo of the burned-out church frame that included the phrase "I have no words." Local media report that the adjacent K-8th grade school suffered significant damage and that during repairs, 150+ students and more than two dozen staff will be assigned to other schools. That is just one of several Catholic properties that have been damaged or destroyed. The superintendent for Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Paul Escala, joins to share whether we know how many other Catholic schools have been damaged or destroyed. For much of last week, the Catholic schools were closed. Escala tells us what the status is now, how many are open, and whether there is an estimate for when Catholic schools might reopen. Escala discusses more about the Catholic schools, their sports schedules, and their extra-curricular activities. He explains whether they will be rescheduled. He fills us in on whether these fires are different from anything he has faced before and where people can go to donate if they want to help.
