Mangaluru, May 27 : The Platinum Jubilee of ICYM (75 years of ICYM) was celebrated by the members of ICYM Bejai unit on 8th of May 2022. The day began with a Thanksgiving mass at 7:00 AM offered by Rev. Fr. Rupesh Madtha, followed by a group photo session of all the present and former members of CYM and ICYM.

The breakfast was served in the mini hall, followed by honouring of all Ex-presidents of CYM and ICYM. The chief guests for the morning program were Mr. Walter Nandalike, Founder and Managing Director of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd and Rev. Fr. Rupesh Madtha, former director of YSM/YCS of Mangalore diocese. Along with them the Parish Priest of Bejai, Rev. Dr. JB Saldanha; Rev. Fr. Suraj Joseph Lobo; Superior of St. Angela Convent Sr. Severine Crasta, the Vice President of PPC Ashok Pinto, the Secretary of PPC Preethi Gomes, the animator of ICYM Rohan Sequeira, the President of ICYM Shiny Lewis and the Secretary of ICYM Carol Santhumayor were present on the dais.

The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. The MC for the morning program was Arel D'Souza, the Cultural Secretary of ICYM Bejai. Welcome speech was given by Shiny Lewis. Chief guest and the dignitaries on the dais were welcomed with a rose, followed by the annual report of ICYM which was read by Carol Santhumayor. After the report was read, the Ex-presidents of CYM and ICYM were felicitated and honoured. The chief guests were also felicitated and honoured by Rev. Fr. JB Saldanha.

Both the chief guests gave a talk regarding the guidance to be given to youth of the present generation. Presidential speech was given by Rev. Dr. JB Saldanha. Thereafter Rev. Fr. Vincent Sequeira prayed for the departed souls of the CYM and Ex-ICYM members. Mr. Augustine Rodrigues gave a speech Enlightening the Youth.

The vote of thanks was given by Wilma Martin's, followed by a Group picture of the 75th batch of ICYM Bejai.

Evening Cultural Program

The program began with a Prayer song by ICYM members followed by a Welcome Dance by YCS members of Bejai Unit. The MC for the evening formal program was Sonali Rodrigues. The Chief Guests for the evening program were Rev. Fr. John Baptist Saldanha, Parish priest of St. Francis Xavier Church, Bejai; Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, Director of ICYM Mangalore diocese; Rev. Fr. Ronson Pinto, Director of ICYM ECD. The Guest of Honour was Sonal Monteiro, winner of SOAD-5 "Rani Kogull". The other dignitaries present were Jaison Lawrence Crasta, President ICYM Central Council; Blairil Vishma D'cunha, General Secretary ICYM Central Council, Sanjay Orwin D'Souza, President ICYM ECD, Teena Melvita Pashao, General Secretary ICYM ECD, Shiny Lewis, president of ICYM Bejai and Carol Santhumayor, secretary of ICYM Bejai.

The lighting of the lamp was done by dignitaries of the dias. Welcome speech was given by Shiny Lewis and each one of them was welcomed with a rose. The annual report was read by Carol Santhumayor. Then Each member on the dias gave a talk for the day and were felicitated as well. With this the stage program came to an end. The Vote of thanks was given by Ashita Pinto. The MC for the Cultural Program was Carol Santhumayor.

The Cultural Program began with a Jubilee song composed by Rev. Fr. Suraj Lobo, Assistant director ICYM Bejai. This was followed by a Comedy drama by Nellu Permannur and his team. In each gap of this particular drama, Jasmine D'Souza and Sylvian D'silva entertained the gathering with their singing. At the end of the drama the members of ICYM Bejai entertained all by singing some Baila Songs which concluded with a Baila Dance.
