Mangaluru, April 1 : A successful Hair Donation Drive was jointly organized by the Commission for Women, Mother Mary Sthree Sangatan of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga, Mercy Beauty Academy & Ladies Salon, and Fly High Charitable Trust. The event took place on March 30, 2025, at the Church Hall.
This inclusive drive was open to all, transcending boundaries of caste, creed, and religion. Donors from diverse backgrounds came together, united in their generosity and kindness, to support a noble cause.
The event began with a soulful prayer song by the members of Mother Mary Sthree Sangatan, invoking God's blessings. The Hair Donation Drive aimed to support a noble cause, collecting hair donations from willing participants to create wigs for cancer patients, bringing hope and dignity to their lives.
The dignitaries present on the dais included:

- Mrs. Reshma Pereira, Secretary, Mother Mary Sthree Sangatan Neermarga Unit.
Rev. Fr. Paul Pinto, Parish Priest of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga, graciously presided over the event. He expressed heartfelt appreciation to the generous donors, skilled hairdressers, and dedicated Sangatan members. In his inspiring address, Fr. Pinto emphasized, "Donating our hair or human body organs not only transforms the lives of others but also gives our own life a profound sense of purpose and meaning."
Mrs. Usha Fernandes, conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to all individuals who contributed to the overwhelming success of the event. She emphasized the profound impact of this selfless act, stating that it will bring immense joy and confidence to the lives of cancer patients, transforming their journey with hope and resilience.
Appreciation to the skilled hairdressers from Mercy Beauty Academy and Ladies Salon for their exceptional service in ensuring proper hair collection.

Key contributors to the program's success included Mrs. Sheryl Iona, Founder of Fly High Charitable Trust, members of Mother Mary Sthree Sangatan, and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga, who all played a vital role in making the event a resounding success.
The Backdrop of the event was arranged by M/s.Maria Arrangers. Anusha Reema D’Souza extended a warm welcome to all, while Savitha Pereira compered the program.
They are thrilled to announce that their hair donation drive saw an overwhelming response, with 80 participants ranging from 7 to 70 years old!
As a token of gratitude, all hair donors were honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation, paired with a delightful Bonda Milk Shake, in recognition of their selfless contribution. Daisy Crasta lent a helping hand by meticulously writing the donors names on the Certificates.
