Kulur - Mangaluru, Aug 22 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Kulur unit held the "Pavsa Gammath" event on Sunday, 18th August 2024, at St. Antony Church, Kulur, drawing parishioners of all ages for a day of cultural celebration and community bonding. The event was officially inaugurated by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Victor Vijay Lobo, alongside other dignitaries.

A highlight of the day was the offering of traditional Konkani monsoon foods prepared by parishioners, complemented by a series of water games that were enthusiastically enjoyed by participants. Mr. Elroy, who hosted the water games, played a key role in ensuring everyone had a memorable time.

Members of the ICYM Mangalore Diocese & Episcopal City Deanery Executive Committee visited during the event, adding to the festive atmosphere. Mr. Danny Dsouza, a participant, noted that the event successfully united the parish community, enhancing the sense of togetherness.

The day began with a prayer service led by ICYM members, setting a spiritual foundation for the celebration. Rev. Fr. Arun J Mendonca offered prayers for the event's success and the blessing of the food. Listan Pinto, President of ICYM Kulur Unit, extended a warm welcome to the guests, marking the start of the program.

Several dignitaries attended the event, including Aloysius Loyce Dsouza, Chief Guest; Rev. Fr. Victor Vijay Lobo, Parish Priest of Kulur; Rev. Fr. Arun J Mendonca, Head Master of Kulur High School; Arun Roshan Dsouza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Dr. Vinay Rajath Dsouza, Coordinator of Parish Pastoral Commissions; Mr. Elroy Saldanha, Animator of ICYM Omzoor Unit; Suzanha Ferrao, President of Episcopal City Deanery; Sr. Janet Lobo, Superior of Samudra Tare Convent; Mr. Claver Dsouza, Animator of ICYM Kulur Unit; and Listan Pinto, President of ICYM Kulur Unit.

The event concluded with a prize distribution by Mr. Aloysius Loyce Dsouza, followed by a vote of thanks from Arwin Monteiro, Secretary, ICYM Kulur Unit and expressions of gratitude to the sponsors by Ishal Monteiro, Treasurer ICYM, Kulur Unit. Veslita Lobo efficiently served as the MC for the program.
