Puttur, Sep 11, 2024 : The ICYM unit of Mai De Deus Church, Puttur organized an altar decoration competition to celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of Mother Mary. This event aimed to engage the community in a creative expression of faith and devotion.
The competition was conducted via WhatsApp. Participants submitted photographs of their altar decorations through the messaging platform, which allowed for remote and accessible participation.

Prizes were awarded to the winners following the festive Mass, celebrating both the competition and the religious occasion.
The winners of the altar decoration competition were announced, with Nelson Joy Gonsalves (Shingani) taking first place, Irine Dsouza (Darbe) securing second and the third prize was shared by two i.e., Alveera Ancita Dsouza (Puttur) and Prameela Preethi (Shingani).
The event successfully combined religious celebration with community engagement, adapting traditional practices to modern communication methods.
