Puttur, 6 April 2025 : The Department of Computer Science and Pinnacle IT Club of St Philomena College, (Autonomous), Puttur, jointly hosted the valedictory ceremony of the much-anticipated state-level IT fest, Pinnacle-25. The event, a dynamic platform for innovation and skill display, saw the enthusiastic participation of 19 teams from various reputed institutions across Karnataka.

Spanning a wide spectrum of competitions, Pinnacle-25 offered ten diverse and challenging events: Product Launch, IT Quiz, IT Manager, Coding, Web Design, Photography, Paper Presentation, Surprise Event, Gaming, and Group Dance. The competitions were largely adjudicated by senior students of the host college, who also played a pivotal role in organizing and motivating participants throughout the event.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Dr Vijaykumar Moleyar, Vice Principal of the college, while the chief guest was Ms. Sailee Vitthal Suvarna, a distinguished alumna of the institution and currently Learning & Development Specialist at UnifyCX (Glotech Technologies), Mangaluru.

In his presidential address, Dr. Vijaykumar Moleyar emphasized the importance of nurturing human relationships in the digital age. He lauded the tireless efforts of the organizing committee, faculty mentors, and the committed group of alumni whose involvement from start to finish was key to the fest’s success. He congratulated all the participating teams and extended special praise to the senior students who led by example.

Ms Sailee Suvarna, delivering an inspiring address, recounted her own transformative journey through competitions and event organization during her student years. “This fest is not just about showcasing skills,” she remarked. “It stands as a testament to your hard work, creativity, talent, and boundless enthusiasm. Beyond certificates and awards, it is the friendships you form, the lessons you learn, and the challenges you overcome that will shape your future. Embrace every opportunity to learn, grow, and think differently, every bold step you take today is a prologue to your bright tomorrow.”

The Fest hosted a total of ten vibrant competitions, with enthusiastic participation from institutions across Karnataka. In Code Clash, Roldan from St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru secured first place, while Shashidhar K. from Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar emerged as runner-up. Photography honours went to Lalu Prasad of FMKMC, Madikeri, followed by Prajwal Gowda from Vivekananda College, Puttur. In Gaming, the winning duo was Vilas G.V. and Nikhil Varishta from MGM College, Udupi, while Nikhith P.B. and Pratap M. of FMKMC, Madikeri took second place. The IT Quiz was won by Prakruthi Shetty and Vineeth Kumar from SDM College, Mangaluru, with Sanjana S.K. and Neil Rasquinha of Government First Grade College, Car Street, Mangaluru finishing second. Sandeep Shetty from MGM College, Udupi clinched the top spot in Web Design, while Sion from St. Aloysius College stood as runner-up. The Product Launch segment saw Srujan and Nash of St. Aloysius College bag the first prize, followed by Hrithika and Darshil Shetty from Sacred Heart College. In the Paper Presentation, Manaswi D. Shetty of Canara College, Mangaluru secured first place, and Dylon Sharlin D’Souza from St. Aloysius College took second. Melanie Sonal Lobo from Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar was crowned IT Manager, with Harshith Shetty of Vivekananda College, Puttur as runner-up. The Surprise Event winners were Bhavish K. (Vivekananda College, Puttur) and Apeksha K.J. Shetty (Akshaya College, Puttur). In the Group Dance competition, Sri Medha College, Ballari took the top honour, while FMKMC, Madikeri claimed the second spot. For overall performance, Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa College, Madikeri earned the Second Runner-up title with a cash prize of ₹5,000, Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar was named First Runner-up with ₹7,000, and the coveted Overall Championship went to St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru, who received a prize of ₹10,000.

The event began with a warm welcome from student coordinator Ashwin, while Disha Pearl Mascarenhas delivered the vote of thanks. The proceedings were anchored by second-year BCA student Sahana Priya. The winners’ list was read by Dr Geetha Poornima K., dignitaries including Dr Vinayachandra, Dean and Head of the Department of Computer Science and student convener Lenin, graced the dais.
