Mangaluru, Feb 17, 2025 : St Theresa's School proudly celebrated the exceptional achievements of its students at a prestigious scholarship award ceremony, recognizing their talents and hard work across academics, arts, and sports. The event was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Dominic Rosario, along with Sr. Shaila, Correspondent of St Theresa's School, Principal Sr. Lourdes, and PTA Vice President Mrs. Collete Cabral, who jointly honoured the young achievers on stage.
To inspire young talent and celebrate exceptional achievements at the state and national levels, a special recognition ceremony was held. These awards were accompanied by cash prizes, generously sponsored by Mrs. Deviprabha in memory of her daughter, Prateeka Alva (2010 batch). Mrs. Deviprabha, an Associate Professor of Commerce at St. Agnes College, Mangalore, is known for her contributions to education and skill development.
Awardees Honoured for Excellence
1. Sanvi Hegde – 2nd place in surfing at the National Level (Surfing Federation of India).
2. Ananya Keshav Prabhu – Participated in National-Level Table Tennis (CISCE Games and Sports, Kolkata).
3. Shaurya Shetty – Silver medal at the State-Level Finn Swimming (Karnataka Underwater Sports and Finn Swimming Association).
4. Cahill De Silva and Rishit Pujari – 2nd place in Table Tennis at the Mini Olympic Games 2024 (Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, Bengaluru).
5. Lincia Jocelyn D'Souza – Champion in Under-15 All India Floodlight Open Rapid Chess; various accolades at national and international chess tournaments.
6. Seona Dipsia Vegas – 3rd place at First Move Open International Rapid FIDE Chess; 4th place in Under-13 at All India Floodlight Open Rapid Chess.
7. Shraddha Naik – Champion in the F13 category at First Move International Chess (Mysore) and multiple achievements in FIDE-rated tournaments.
8. Jashit M Shetty – Runner-up at the Under-14 All India T20 Cricket Championship (Hyderabad).
9. Sanvi Yadav – 3rd place in Speed Skating (Under-14) at CISCE Games and Sports 2024 (Bengaluru).
10. Manna Avva Siddiq – 1st place at the National-Level Chinnara Chitra Chitara Contest; honoured with the Little Artist Award.
11. Achintya Rai – Champion of Karavali Saregamapa Season 6 (State-Level Music Competition); honoured with the Ghanasiri Gaayana Ratna Award.
12. Bhavith Rai Kukkuvalli – Felicitated for remarkable contributions to the Tulu film industry, including performances in Pili Punja and Dharma Chaavadi.
13. Faith Lyra Pinto (Std 2) – Recognized for her remarkable performance in the movie Payaan.
14. Sancia (Std 3) – Honoured for her outstanding acting in My Dear Father.
15. Aadhya (Std 3) – Recognized for her exceptional talent in writing on nature, with her books published by Bribooks.
16. Denver Martin Pereira (Std 4) – Acknowledged for academic excellence and success in various competitions.
17. Kiyara Prakash Shet, Anne Rachel Dsouza, and Rizelle Alida Dsouza – Felicitated for their achievements in chess.
18. Kenneth Rosario – Recognized for his proficiency and dedication to karate.
19. Angelina Christy Pradeep – Honoured for her accomplishments in Table Tennis.
Special Recognition for Saneeha Shetty
The event also paid tribute to Saneeha Shetty, an extraordinary athlete who was honoured with the Best Outgoing Student in Sports Award for her exceptional achievements:
Silver Medal in the 400m at the CISCE National Meet.
Gold in 400m and 200m at the State-Level CISCE Meet.
Bronze in 600m at the State Junior National Meet and Silver at the South Zone Athletic Meet.
Gold in the 4×100m and 4×400m relays at the CISCE National Meet.
Saneeha was presented with a trophy sponsored by Mr. Goutham Shetty, Chairman of Torpedoes Cricket Club and President of the Tennis Ball Cricket Association, Udupi, along with a cash prize from the school management as a token of appreciation for her dedication and contributions to the school's sporting legacy.
