Mangaluru, Dec 15 : The Annual Sports Meet of Rosario Institutions was held on December 14th, 2024, at the school grounds. The event commenced with the inauguration ceremony, where the school flag was unfurled, and pigeons were released. The sports lamp, blessed by Fr. Valerian Frank at Rosario Cathedral, was carried by the athletes and handed over to the President, symbolizing the beginning of the sports meet.
In his address, Mr. Latheef emphasized the importance of respecting teachers and the institution, highlighting their vital role in shaping students' lives and promoting all-round development. He also stressed the need for consistent hard work to achieve success.
Rev. Fr. Alfred John Pinto, Correspondent of Rosario Institutions, delivered the presidential address. He underscored the significance of self-esteem and self-discipline in becoming a successful person and extended his best wishes to the athletes.
The day's events began with a parade by students, followed by a series of athletic events. Mrs. Jacintha Moras, Headmistress of Rosario High School, welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Mavis Serao, Headmistress of Rosario Higher Primary School, proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Jenevieve D'Souza compered the event.
The closing ceremony was held in the evening, where individual champions of the annual sports meet were felicitated. The event was a grand success under the leadership and guidance of Physical Director Mr. Clement D'Souza.
The heads of the institution, physical director, staff, and students attended the concluding ceremony. The program concluded with the national anthem, the ceremonial lowering of the flag, and extinguishing of the sports lamp, marking the end of the memorable event.
