Kirem, Nov 30 : The Annual Parish Feast of Kirem Church was celebrated with devotion, joy and pomp on 27th November 2024.
The Solemn Eucharist of Parish Feast was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Valerian Pinto, as the main celebrant. He is Chaplain Nirmala Convent, Ullal and was concelebrated by around twenty priests including the parish priest Rev. Fr. Oswald Monteiro and Socius Fr. Alban Dsilva.
The Donors were honored with candles. Rev. Fr. Valerian Pinto preached meaningful homily on "Pilgrims of Hope". After the solemn mass the church honored three Guthu Families who, according to a tradition, saved Christian Community during the invasion of Tippu Sultan during the end of 18th century. The Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Rohan Dcosta while honoring the Bunt families said "Harmony, unity and mutual respect is the need of the hour for we live in multi religious contests. We need to respect each other. May this occasion inspire us to live harmoniously in our society".
Mr. James lobo Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council , Mr. Wilfred Monis and Mr. Paul Miranda were present on the occasion.
The church and its premises were illuminated with colourful lights on the occasion.
On the eve of the feast the Vespers were held in the church and was led by Rev. Fr. Pradeep Rodrigues Asst. priest, Valencia. Earlier prayers were held at Damaskatte Junction.
