Mulki, Oct 30 : The Annual Sports Day was held at Bethany English Medium Higher Primary School, Kilpady, Mulki on Tuesday, 29th October 2024. Students, faculty, and parents gathered to celebrate athletic skills with determination, and teamwork.

Sr. Mariola BS, Assistant Provincial Superior of Bethany Mangalore Province, and Education coordinator Mangalore Province presided over the program. Rev. Fr. Abraham Dsouza SVD, Divine Call Center Mulki, Mr. Daniel Devaraj Advocate and Notary and Mrs. Jyothsna Dalmeida, PTA Vice President were the guests of honour. The guest was escorted with band.

The Sports Day started with the march-past having commenced, with teams stepping in unison to showcase their discipline and team spirit.

A special opening prayer was offered by the students. A cordial welcome was accorded by Mrs. Dayavathi. The Teachers welcomed the guests through saplings.

Rev. Fr. Abraham Dsouza inaugurated the Annual Sports Meet inspiring all participants to embrace the spirit of competition and excel in their athletics endeavors. The highlight of the event was the arrival of the symbolic flame, ignited from the lamp fire, representing the enduring spirit of competition and unity, as they are celebrating the values of perseverance and sportsmanship throughout the Annual Sports Meet. The torchbearers were outstanding young athletes, who had excelled in various sports events. Sr.Mariola BS the President received the torch, which was then placed in a prominent spot in the School ground to continue burning throughout the sports meet. The oath was administered by the school sports minister, Adhvith affirming the commitment of all athletes to uphold the principles of fair play, respect, and sportsmanship. A spirit filled performance by grade I to VII students, showcased the importance of exercise for a fit body and sound mind. An amazing speech was given by the president Sr. Mariola BS, extending heartfelt congratulations to all students for their hard work and dedication.

Mrs. Radhika compered the inaugural ceremony and Mrs. Savitha proposed the vote of thanks, marking the end of the formal inaugural program. The day continued with the students enthusiastically participating in various events, showcasing their talents and sportsmanship while fostering a sense of community and friendly competition.

The winners were recognized with medals and certificates. The event created a memorable and exciting day filled with energy, sportsmanship, and team spirit.  The ceremony was concluded by singing the school anthem.
