Shamboor - Bantwal, Sep 18 : On 15 September 2024, the "Pavsa Khel - Season 2" event organized by the ICYM Shamboor Unit, was held at the Sacred Heart church ground from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The event was marked by a stage program featuring several distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Fr. Santhosh D'Souza, the Director of ICYM Shamboor; Guest Priest Fr. Austin Fernandes; Lancy Crasta, Secretary of Shamboor Church; Melvin Pais, ICYM Animator; Roy Pashan, President of ICYM Shamboor; Leediya Lobo, Secretary of ICYM Shamboor; Rohan Veigas, Sports Secretary; and Herald Monteiro, President of Catholic Sabha Shamboor. The four ward 'gurkars' were also present, adding significance to the occasion. Additionally, John Paul II Vitla Deanery President Prithesh Lobo, ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese PRO Sharvin D'Souza, and Social Cause Secretary Wilson Pinto honored the event with their presence.

The event was hosted by Telan Pashan, and the prayer song was led by Delvin Lobo and Leediya Lobo. ICYM President Roy Pashan delivered the welcome address. Fr. Santhosh and Fr. Austin Fernandes shared their well wishes for the success of the event, after which Secretary Leediya Lobo expressed gratitude to all the guests in her vote of thanks.

Following the stage program, a variety of individual and group games were organized. These competitions took place between the four wards: St. Antony Ward, St. Joseph Ward, St. Sebastian Ward, and Sacred Heart Ward. The games, conducted by Sujai Lobo and Joshua Baptist, were enjoyed by all parishioners, emphasizing togetherness and community spirit rather than just competition.

In the afternoon, ICYM Central Council members President Winston Joel Sequeira (Moodbidri), Vice President Nihan Sequeira (Loretto), and Joint Secretary Joyston D'Souza (Moodbidri) visited the event and appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants.

The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. St. Joseph Ward claimed the overall championship, St. Antony Ward was the runner-up, Sacred Heart Ward secured third place, and St. Sebastian Ward came in fourth place. The program ended on a joyful note with the traditional 'Baila' dance. Secretary Leediya Lobo thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
