Mangaluru, Aug 26 : Behind every brilliant torch that illuminates the path of success, there lies the unseen support - “The teachers”. These silent architects of greatness, though often overlooked, fuel the luminous achievements of those who shine brightly in society. It is their unspoken dedication and enduring influence that transform mere sparks into radiant beacons of triumph.

In a heartfelt and elegant ceremony, the Apostolic Carmel Educational Society, Karnataka felicitated 16 retired staff members of the year 2023-24 on Saturday, August 24th 2024 at the Province Auditorium, St Ann’s Convent, Mangaluru.

The ceremony imbued with a sense of gratitude, commenced with a prayer service led by the staff and students of Carmel CBSE School, Mangaluru. It helped everyone gathered to experience the divine presence. Sister Maria Sudeepa A.C, Secretary of the Apostolic Carmel Educational Society, warmly welcomed the gathering. The Provincial Superior and Vice President of the Society greeted each retired staff member with a rose, acknowledging their elegant presence and the significant contributions they made during their teaching career.

As colleagues shared brief accounts of the retirees’ achievements, the Provincial Superior and the Educational Secretary honoured the retired staff with a shawl, garland, fruit basket and a memento. The retirees, visibly moved, smiled as their memorable moments in service were celebrated on stage and captured in a group photograph with their close relatives, heads of institutions, and sisters who accompanied them during their careers.

In her address, the Provincial Superior Sr Maria Shamita expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for the retired staff for their unwavering dedication and loyalty to raise the bar of excellence in their own institutions and for shaping the lives of thousands of students. Through a touching story about a boat, she highlighted the profound impact the retirees had in nurturing the students under their care and wished them a happy and peaceful retired life.

Dr Vishala B.K from St Agnes College, speaking on behalf of the retired staff, conveyed heartfelt thanks to the management and to all who guided and supported them in their career. Sister Rachana A.C proposed the vote of thanks while Sister Ashwina A.C. and Sr Anitha DSouza A.C compeered the programme.

The ceremony concluded with a relishing meal shared by all attendees. The retired staff left with a sense of connection and fulfilment, carrying with them a thousand smiles of gratitude for the recognition of their services by the management.
