Mangaluru, Aug 26 : The Karnataka Jesuit Educational Society (KJES) Youth Works organized a youth animators’ training programme at Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT), Beeri-Mangalore, on August 24 and 25, 2024.

The programme commenced with an insightful session by Rev. Fr Melwin Pinto SJ, the Rector of St. Aloysius Institutions, Mangalore. Fr. Pinto emphasized team building and provided a clear understanding of success for the young leaders.

Rev. Fr Sujay Daniel SJ followed with an engaging session on key points for conducting effective sessions for the youth. The young animators delved into fruitful discussions on upholding Jesuit principles in youth ministry and empowering themselves as future leaders.

Rev. Fr Kiran Coth SJ, the Director of AIMIT Campus, engaged in an interactive session on social identification and the role of youth in society. Ms. Viola Reshma Lewis shared her experiences of being part of the Jesuit youth ministry over the years.

The first day concluded with a sightseeing tour to strengthen unity among the team members, followed by a Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr Anthony Derrick SJ, the youth incharge of the Mangalore region.

The second day began with a pilgrimage visit to St. Joseph’s Vaz Shrine, Mudipu. Animators shared their inspiration to actively involve themselves in youth ministry. Upon returning, Rev. Fr Joel Fernandes SJ, the Director of KJES Youth Works, presented the action plan for the youth ministry. Animators discussed and shared their opinions for the effective functioning of the ministry.

The training programme concluded with quality time spent with the animators and a visit to the family of Ms. Viola Reshma Lewis in Mangalore. This programme aimed to create dynamic animators to lead the Jesuit youth ministry in Karnataka.
