Jyothinagara, Kavoor, Aug 15, 2024 — The spirit of patriotism and community care filled the air as the Shubadha Society, under the guidance of Sr. Ileen BS, organized a dual event celebrating India's 78th Independence Day and raising awareness about Dengue fever. The program, held at Jyothinagara, Kavoor, saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, including men, women, children, and key community leaders.
The event commenced at 9:00 a.m. with the hoisting of the national flag by the esteemed guest of honor, Dr. S. S. Shetty from Jyothinagara, while addressing the gathering Dr. Shetty, emphasized the importance of unity and collective responsibility in nation-building, urging everyone to contribute towards a stronger and healthier India.
Following the Independence Day celebrations, the focus shifted to an equally pressing issue—Dengue fever, a viral disease that has been a growing concern in the region. Sr. Ileen BS, a dedicated member of the Shubadha Society, led the awareness session, providing valuable insights into Dengue prevention and control. She highlighted the importance of maintaining clean surroundings, eliminating stagnant water, and promptly seeking medical attention in case of symptoms. Her talk was both informative and engaging, ensuring that the message reached every individual present.
The program also featured the presence of Mr. Malanna, President of Jyothinagara Panchayath, along with other prominent figures such as Prakash, Nagappa, Guru Swami, Basavaraj, Babu, Suresh, Mrs. Bharathi from JeevandharaKulshekar and Sr. Herita, Director of Shubadha Society. Their collective support underscored the community's commitment to combating health issues and fostering a safe environment for all.
In addition to the awareness program, the MSW students from St Aloysius and Roshni Nilaya added a touch of fun and interaction by organizing games for the children. Their involvement not only energized the crowd but also reinforced the importance of social work in community upliftment.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Suresh, who expressed her gratitude to all participants and organizers for their contributions. The program was a resounding success, leaving the community with a renewed sense of responsibility towards their nation and their health.To enhance the joy of the festal celebration sweets were distributed at the end of the programme.
