Mangaluru, June 25, 2024 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of the Diocese of Mangalore held "Gratiarum 2024," an evening of gratitude and togetherness, on June 22 at Olivet House in Jeppu, Mangalore. The event was marked by meaningful activities and a strong sense of community among the youth leaders.

The day began with a team effort to clean and beautify the inside and outside of Olivet House, fostering a sense of responsibility and ensuring a pristine environment. This activity set the tone for a day dedicated to community service and togetherness.

In the evening, at 7 PM, a Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Johnson Sequeira, Principal of Lourdes Central School Bejai, along with Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese. During the Mass, Fr. Johnson Sequeira commended the youths for their dedicated contributions to ICYM over the past year and encouraged them to continue making a positive impact on the community. He also blessed the building, enhancing the sense of occasion and gratitude.

Following the Mass, the ICYM Director and DEXCO members of ICYM Mangalore Diocese honored Fr. Johnson as a gesture of appreciation. The Dexco and Central Council members then shared their reflections on the year's experiences, discussing both the rewards and challenges faced.

Delicious food was prepared by the youth, highlighting their impressive culinary skills and teamwork. Their efforts resulted in a delightful meal enjoyed by everyone.

Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese; Mr. Mithesh D'Souza, President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese; and Ms. Wilma Lobo, Secretary of ICYM Mangalore Diocese, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all youth leaders for their dedicated service over the past year and extended their best wishes for future endeavors.
