May 22 : ‘Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect” (Rom 12: 2).
The Installation of the new Provincial Superior Sr Lilly Pereira and her councilors was held on May 21st, 2024 at Bethany ProvincialateVamanjoor. It was a day of Jubilation and a Historic milestone. Eucharistic celebration was officiated by Rev. Fr. Wilfred Prakash DSouza the Director of St Joseph’s Engineering College, Vamanjoor. Expounding the readings of the Mass he explained the importance of love for the Lord and for one another.
Mass was followed by the Installation ceremony. Sr Rose Celine, the Superior General officially installed Sr Lilly Pereira the Provincial Superior and her Councillors, Sr Mariola, Sr Dona Sanctis, Sr Flavia Wilma and Sr Shalet DSouza during an hour of prayer. She exhorted the Provincial Superior and the councillors to grow deeper in the love of God and concern towards sisters. She explained the responsibility of being a Shepherd, Steward and Servant. Citing the example of the Servant of God Raymond Mascarenhas she urged to become cisterns of God’s love by sitting before the Blessed Sacrament.
Sisters applauded the services of Sr Cicilia Mendonca the outgoing Provincial Superior, Sr Roshel, Sr Anna Maria and Sr Shubha for their past 8years of service to the Province. Sr Cicilia Mendonca the Provincial Superior expressed her gratitude to the Superior General for her support, encouragement and guidance. Sr Lilly Pereira the new Provincial Superior and the team members were facilitated. Sr Rose Celine the Superior General greeted the new team and prayed God’s blessings upon them. She gratefully acknowledged the selfless services of past Provincial Superior and her councilors. Bethany Lay Association Hand Book “In His Footprints” in Konkani was released on this occasion. Sr Leena Pereira thanked all the participants. Sr Lydia Pinto compeered the felicitation programme. It was concluded with the fellowship meal. This historical event was witnessed by the sisters of the Province. It was indeed a red letter day in the History of Mangalore Province.
