Valencia, April 8 : The Saheli Women’s Unit of St. Vincent Ferrer Church Valencia celebrated Women’s Day on 6th April 2024.
The program began with the Eucharistic Celebration at 5p.m. The members of Saheli conducted the liturgy. Rev. Fr Ronald Serrao was the main celebrant & Rev. Fr William Barrocas, the concelebrant for the mass.
After the mass, the stage program was organised in the Golden Jubilee Hall, Valencia. Rev. Fr Roque DSa (Parish Priest) was the chief guest. Rev. Fr William Barrocas, Rita Menezes (Secretary - Parish Council), Steven Rodrigues (21 commissions coordinator) along with the resource person Dr Caroline P. DSouza were present on the dais. Dr Roseveera Rodrigues (Member- Saheli Women’s unit), compered the program. Leena Monteiro (President- Saheli Women’s unit) welcomed the gathering. Janet Caldeira (Secretary- Saheli Women’s unit) read the annual report.
Rev. Fr Roque DSa (Parish Priest) appreciated the efforts of women for their contribution to the social wellbeing at the church & at the Parish.
Dr Caroline P. DSouza, well-known neuro psychiatrist addressed the audience on the issues of women’s mental health & well-being, and also how to create work-life balance and create an amicable atmosphere at home by equally distributing responsibilities. She explained the need of knowing the challenges of mental health such as stress & how to deal with stress related issues. 185 women of the parish participated & benefited from the talk on mental health.
Later, the Saheli members displayed skit, dance & singing. Spot games were also conducted. Lucy Leena dsouza proposed vote of thanks. The program concluded with dinner.
