Kelarai, Feb 6 : ICYM unit of St Anne Church, Kelarai celebrated its glorious 40 years anniversary (Ruby Jubilee) on 28 January 2024. The Holy Eucharistic celebration was held at 7 a.m celebrated by Fr. Ashwin Cardoza, The Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese.

The cultural evening began at 5:30 p.m with the members of ICYM Kelarai marching forward with the logo and singing the Ruby Jubilee theme song. The dignitaries present were Rev. Fr Joseph Mascarenhas (Parish Priest St Anne Church Kelarai) The president of the function and the chief guests were V. Rev. Fr. James D'Souza (Vicar Vara City Deanery, Mangalore Diocese), Mr. Denis Dsilva ( Former ICYM President Mangalore Diocese and Karnataka ICYM representative), Rev. Dr. Fr. Mark Castelino (former director of ICYM Kelarai), Rev. Fr. Ashwin Cardoza (Director, ICYM, Mangalore Diocese), Mr. Mithesh D'Souza (President, ICYM Mangalore Diocese), Mr. Santhosh D'Costa (Vice President, Parish Parishad - Kelarai),Mrs. Celine D'Mello (Secretary, Parish Parishad Kelarai) , Sr. Shanthi Pereira (Superior, Fathima Convent Kelarai) ,Mr. Aston D'Souza (President, ICYM City Deanery) accompanied by Mr. Vinod Pereira and Mrs. Linet Crasta ( Animators of ICYM Kelarai) and Ms. Arleen Dsouza and Ms. Lenisha Crasta ( President and secretary of ICYM Kelarai).

Ms. Arleen welcomed the gathering. Ms Lenisha Crasta presented a short glimpse of the 40 years by PowerPoint presentation. Fr. James Dsouza, Fr. Ashwin Dsouza , Mr. Denis Dsilva and Fr. Joseph Mascarenhas gave the message. Prizes were distributed for dance , singing competition and sports events. The Former Directors, Presidents and Deanery representatives and special talents in the parish were honoured. Ms. Roshni Dsouza proposed the vote of thanks.

The “CHANDARE” musical night was organised, featuring a splendid blend of music, songs, dance, and drama. The event was generously supported by Mr. Lloyd Rego Taccode and Mr. Roshan D’Souza Angelore.

The beautiful voices for the event were contributed by Ashwin Dcosta, Shilpa, Meera, Stephen, Joshal, Blue Angels Choir, Benoy, Alisha , Verna, Anitha.

The event was a grand success showcasing talents of the artists and the Parishioners. The event ended beautifully with Dinner.
