Moodbidri, Jan 22 : Corpus Christi Church here celebrated a momentous occasion on Sunday, January 21, 2024, as they felicitated the accomplished Ms. Ashna Leyna Pereira, a distinguished student from Nithydar ward. The proud daughter of Mr. Alwyn Pereira and Mrs. Maria Pereira, Ashna is currently excelling in her studies as a 6th-grade student at Rotary Central School.

The prestigious event, organized by the Teachers Association of Corpus Christi Church, was presided over by Mrs. Clara D'costa. She eloquently highlighted Ashna's outstanding achievements, showcasing the remarkable accomplishments of this young scholar.

Ashna Leyna Pereira boasts an impressive collection of accolades, including three prestigious awards. Notably, she was honored with the Dr. Shivaram Karanth Bala Puraskar Award on November 26, 2023, the Makkala Karnataka Rajyotsava Prashasti Award on December 31, 2023, and the India Kala Prashasti 2023 in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

In the realm of sports, Ashna has excelled in Karate, securing the 1st position nationally in both kata and kumite. At the state level, she achieved 1st place in kata and 3rd place in kumite. Her prowess extends beyond the sports arena, as evidenced by her remarkable performance in the National Level Olympiad Exam, where she secured the 3rd rank in science and 6th rank in maths. Ashna also clinched 2nd place in the state-level Abacus competition.

Her artistic talents shine through in drawing, where she secured 2nd place nationally and an impressive record of six 1st-place victories and three 2nd-place finishes at the state level. In Scouts and Guides competitions, Ashna earned 1st place in drawing and 2nd place in the Elocution competition at the state level.

In total, Ms. Ashna Leyna Pereira has amassed over 100 prizes at the national, state, district, and local levels. The felicitation ceremony saw the esteemed presence of Reverend Fr. Onil D'Souza, the parish priest of Corpus Christi Church, along with Vice President Mr. Vincent D'Souza and Mrs. Meera Dias, Secretary of the Association. They honored Ashna with a shawl, fruits, and a flower pot, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to academics, sports, and the arts.
