Omzoor, Jan 22 : Holy Family Church, Omzoor came up with a mission to help construct a house to a needy family of the parish under the leadership and guidance of Fr Alwyn Dcunha, parish priest.
Paul Lobo who runs an autorickshaw was living in a rented house with his bedridden mother, wife and son. The family faced challenges due to immense medical expenses. The family depends only on his sole earnings for their livelihood. Fr Alwyn Dcunha, parish priest; Arther Dsouza, Vice president of PPC realized the gravity of the situation and decided to help construct a 800 square feet house for this needy family.
The Canara Organization for Development and Peace (CODP), a charitable organization under the Diocese of Mangalore, is distributing financial aid to the beneficiaries in need as part of its Golden Jubilee Celebration under the ambitious housing project. The CODP also collaborated with Omzoor Parish in this mission to help this needy family. Arther Dsouza, vice president of PPC took charge of the entire house construction.
This beautiful house was named ‘Prince’ and was inaugurated and handed over to Paul Lobo and his family on Jan 21st, 2024 by Fr Alwyn Dcunha; Parish Priest along with the presence of family members, donors, members of PPC and other guests. The house was built with donations from many kind-hearted people who were truly a reason for the success of this noble mission.
Fr Alwyn Dcunha, commended the noble deed and thanked the parishioners and all the donors who helped in the success of this mission. People who worked in the construction of the house were honored. Dafny Lewis, secretary of PPC compered the programme.
