KIrem, Dec 1 : The Annual Parish Feast of Our Lady of Remedies Church , Kirem was celebrated with devotion, joy and pomp on 29th November 2023.

The Confraternity Sunday was celebrated on 26th November, with solemn Eucharist, Eucharistic Procession and benediction. The main celebrant was Rev. Fr. Edwin Monis the Parish Priest of Vijayadka Church.

At the end of the mass was prize distribution to winners of various contests held on this occasion, such as Bible memorizing competition, Marian- Saints fancy dress competition, Bible quiz etc.

The Vespers were held on 28th November 2023 and was led by Rev. Fr. Avinash Pais. Earlier prayers were held at Damaskatte Junction, Conducted by Rev Fr. Michael Mascarenhas of Kateel Church.

The Solemn Eucharist of Parish Feast was celebrated by Rev. Fr. George Sunil Dsouza the Parish Priest of Thokur Church on 29th November. It was con-celebrated by parish priest Rev. Fr Oswald Monteiro and around 20 Priests. The Donors were honored with candles. Rev. Fr. Sunil preached a meaningful homely and called on the people to share their goodwill, time and other goodness, with the needy just like Jesus did.

After the solemn mass, the church honored three Guthu Bunt Families who, according to a tradition, saved Christian Community during the invention of Tippu Sultan during the end of 18th Century.

The Parish Priest while honoring the Bunt families said, “Harmony, unity and mutual respect is the need of the hour. We live in multi religious contests. We need to respect each other. May this occasion inspire us to live harmoniously in our society”. Mr. Rohan D’Costa Vice President of PPC, Mr. James Lobo Secretary of PPC, Wilfred Monis and Mr. Paul Miranda were present on the occasion. The church and its premises were illuminated with colorful lights to mark the grand occasion.
