Moodbidri, Aug 17 : On the occasion of National Youth Day, ICYM St. Matthew Deanery Moodbidri along with ICYM Paladka unit organized ‘Yuva Sparsh 2023’, on 13th August 2023 at 9 AM at Paladka Church hall.

The programme began with a prayer service led by ICYM Paladka Unit. V. Rev. Fr. Onil Dsouza- ICYM Moodbidri Deanery Director, Colin Baptist Dsouza -  Amcho Yuvak Editor of ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Moodbidri Deanery Representative, Metilda Cardoza - Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council Paladka, Denis D’Mello - 21 Commissions Coordinator of Paladka, Praveen Sequeira and Prajwal Dsouza - Animators of ICYM Paladka Unit, Bradley Cutinha - President of ICYM Paladka Unit,  Brendon Cutinha - President of Moodbidri Deanery, and Vijoy Cardoza - Secretary of Moodbidri Deanery were present on the dais.

Brendon Cutinha, the President of the Deanery extended a warm welcome to the gathering. V. Rev. Fr. Onil Dsouza symbolically inaugurated the programme along with other dignitaries. Colin Baptist Dsouza addressed the gathering. In his presidential speech, V. Rev. Fr. Onil Dsouza addressed the youth and emphasized the significance of discipline and effective time management. Vijoy Cardoza - Deanery Secretary proposed a vote of thanks.  Jonita Rodrigues - Auditor, ICYM Moodbidri Deanery compered the inaugural programme.

After the inaugural ceremony, Rev. Fr. Stany Pinto - Assistant Professor and Campus Director of St. Philomena College, Puttur led a session on various aspects of ICYM learning for the future life, including self-love, faith, and discipline. At noon, all the youth participated in the Holy Eucharistic celebration. Following lunch, V. Rev. Fr. Onil Dsouza elaborated on the importance of education, scholarships, and opportunities in both India and abroad. Thereafter, Winston Joel Sequeira - Hospet conducted a fun filled session and all the youth took active part in all the fun activities, action songs and group games.

During this programme, Mithesh Dsouza - ICYM Mangalore Diocese President, Wilma Viyola Lobo - ICYM Mangalore Diocese general Secretary, Rakesh Rego - ICYM Mangalore Diocese Former Committee member, Kevin Pinto- ICYM Pezar Deanery President and Lester Lasrado - ICYM Mangalore North Deanery President were also present.

Rev. Fr. Elias Dsouza - Parish Priest Paladka presided over valedictory ceremony, along with Avil Dsouza - Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council Paladka, Sushanth Samson Fernandes - ICYM Mangalore Diocese Treasurer, Anil John Sequeira - ICYM Mangalore Diocese Immediate Past President, Brendon Cutinha - President of Moodbidri Deanery, Vijoy Cardoza - Secretary of Moodbidri Deanery and Bradley Cutinha - President of ICYM Paladka Unit.  Avil Dsouza addressed the gathering. Bradley Cutinha - Paladka Unit President expressed his gratitude through a vote of thanks. Lishma Dsouza - ICYM member of Paladka Unit compered the valedictory ceremony.

Around 180 young individuals from Moodbidri Deanery actively participated in this event, and the program concluded with the ICYM Anthem.
