Omzoor, July 31 : Holy Family Church here conducted a half day training session on 30th July, 2023 at 8.30 am to all the S.C.C ward committee members of all the 18 wards. The purpose of this gathering was to make the members understand the importance of the S.C.C meetings, the new insights of S.C.C and to strengthen the ward committee of S.C.C by stressing the importance of committee at every ward.

The training session was inaugurated in a symbolic gesture by parish priest Fr Alwyn Dcunha, Dexter Saldanha, Coordinator of S.C.C Omzoor, Arthur Dsouza, vice president of parish pastoral council and all the 18 ward gurkars by opening and honoring the Bible with garland and roses that was brought in a procession to the hall. Members of central committee conducted prayer service and invoked God’s blessings.

Mr Dexter Saldanha, Coordinator of S.C.C Omzoor welcomed the gathering. Fr Alwyn Dcunha in his message urged the need of the ward committee and also stressed on the role of ward committee in making S.C.C very effective.

The resource person for the day was Fr Joachim Fernandes, Director of S.C.C, Mangalore Diocese. Fr Joachim in his fruitful and thoughtful session stressed on the need, mission, goal and importance of S.C.C and ward committee. He briefed the roles and responsibilities of the ward committee towards S.C.C. He also briefed on the structure and also gave new insights to conduct S.C.C meetings effectively at our wards. He stressed on the importance of having a right attitude towards S.C.C to perform their role in making S.C.C effective. He also cleared the doubts and queries raised by the participants.

Mr. James Lewis evaluated the whole program and with the suggestions the participants were able to take up an action plan. Mrs Jecintha Dsouza, Secretary of SCC Omzoor proposed vote of thanks. Tenisha Pinto compered the program.

Nearly 125 participants benefitted through this training session. This training session will certainly help them in the coming days to make the SCC active and vibrant in the parish.
