Ranipura, July 26, 2023 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement unit of Our Lady, The Queen Of The Universe Church, Ranipura organized ‘YOUTH IGNITE’ to the youth of Ranipura on 23rd July from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Ranipura church society hall.
The programme began by invoking God’s blessing through a prayer song led by ICYM members. President of ICYM Ranipura Liza Dsouza welcomed the guests to the programme. ICYM South Deanery Director and Ranipura parish priest Rev. Fr Jayaprakash Dsouza, Fr Stany Rodrigues, Br Avith Pais,Vice president and Secretary of Ranipura Parish Council Arun Monteiro and Wilma Dsouza , ICYM Ranipura President Liza Dsouza and South deanery President Jevita Ferrao were the dignitaries who graced the dais. ICYM President of Mangalore Diocese Mithesh Dsouza was present and inspired the youth with his words. Mangalore Central Council members , General Secretary Wilma Viyola Lobo, Joint Secretary Anisha Fernandes , Auditor Jaison Dsouza were also present.
The programme was inaugurated by the dignitaries by unveiling of the banner ‘Youth Ignite’.
ICYM South Deanery Director and Ranipura parish priest Rev. Fr Jayaprakash Dsouza addressed the gathering by enlightening on the true meaning of Youth Ignite.
The programme began with making groups and ice breakers. Two sessions with two resource persons were organized. First session was conducted by Dr Caroline Dsouza , a consultant neuropsychiatrist, on ‘Mental health concerns in youth’. Second session was conducted by Mrs Lydia Lobo on ‘ Understanding drugs and drug abuse’. Action songs, games and dance filled the room with fun and joy.
Secretary of ICYM Ranipura Jesmitha Dsouza gave the vote of thanks . The programme Emcee was done by Sandria Dsouza. ICYM Ranipura animators Anisha Neetha Dsouza and Victor Dsouza were present by giving their constant support and guidance. Altogether 66 youth were present.
