Mangaluru, July 17 : To recall the loving guidance, care and protection of Mother Mary, St Agnes School (CBSE), Bendur celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on 15th July 2023. On account of the feast, a solemn Eucharistic Celebration was organised at St Sebastian Church, Bendur, attended by all the catholic students and teaching fraternity. Rev.Fr. John Pinto was the main celebrant of the mass and delivered an appealing sermon. A short programme was organised to celebrate the day with great allegiance.
The programme commenced with a melodious and soulful prayer song. As a mark of reverence, the symbolic representation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel i.e., the cross, stars, lily, crown palm was depicted in the devotional prayer song and dance. A graceful welcome dance was presented by the students. A short skit was enacted to highlight the significance of the Scapular and the importance of values such as humility, prayer, obedience, etc in one’s life. It was followed by a delightful dance performance.
The Chief Guest Sr. Dr. M Shalini AC, who has dedicated 24 years of her service as the lecturer, Professor and HOD of Political Science at St Agnes College, delivered an inspiring speech on the occasion. She congratulated the students for presenting a meaningful programme and urged them to devote their time to prayer and fulfilling god’s will. She also advised the students to show care and respect towards the natural environment and all living beings.
The students who participated in the Spell Bee Handwriting competition were honoured on this occasion.
The principal Sr Maria Sarika AC, Vice Principal Sr Lenita Lobo AC, the Coordinator of St Agnes Preparatory School Sr Letitia AC, and the faculty and students were present for the programme.
Vivel Serrao compered the programme. Neoma Fernandes welcomed the gathering and Reviya Consesso expressed her gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the programme.
St Agnes School (CBSE) under the aegis of Carmel Blossom organised a get-together programme for its members on the occasion of the feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel. All the children actively participated in the activities organised by the school.
