Mogarnad, July 12 : Deva Matha Yuva Sanchalan (ICYM), Mogarnad Unit organised "DEES - YUVA SAMBRAMASO, SAKTHESO, SANGATHPONASO" unique youth program on 9th July 2023 at Deva Matha Sabhabhavan.
The dignitaries for the program were Rev Fr Anil Canute Dmello, Parish priest and Director of DMYM and St John Paul II Deanery, Rev Fr Stany Pinto, Campus Director and Asst Professor, St Philomena College, Puttur, Mr Noel Lobo, Former Animator of DMYM, Santhosh Dsouza and Wilfred Lobo, Vice President and Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Prashant Lewis, Animator, ICYM President Avit Premson Lobo, ICYM Secretary Melvita Christal Pereira were present.
A flash mob was organized for the first time ever in the history of Mogarnad Parish, by the members of Deva Matha Youth Movement in view of the "DEES - YUVA SAMBRAMASO, SAKTHESO, SANGATHPONASO" 2023. This was to embark the moments of togetherness and to bring in unity among the youth.
The program began with a hymn led by the members of DMYM. Avit Premson Lobo welcomed the gathering.
The dignitaries inaugurated the event symbolically. Former DMYM animator, Mr Noel was felicitated for his tremendous service to DMYM as an animator for the past 5 years. Mr Noel expressed his feelings and was overwhelmed by the gesture of the youth. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the youth.
Later Mrs. Emileana Dcunha, the co-ordinator of all the commissions of the Church and Sr. Anne, the superior of Deva Matha Convent were also present for the program.
The Parish priest and Director of DMYM Rev Fr Anil Canute Dmello, was appointed as the Director of St. John Paul II Deanery. Praveen Dcunha, was newly elected as the President of St. John Paul II Deanery and Reshma Dcunha, Unit member of DMYM was elected as the Sports Secretary of St. John Paul II Deanery. It is a moment of pride and honour for all of them. Therefore they were felicitated to embark on their achievement.
Rev Fr Anil Canute Dmello addressed the gathering. He gave a call to the youth to come up in life and utilise the opportunities to the best of their abilities. He motivated the youth to excel in life. A token of gratitude was presented to all the guests present for the program. Secretary Melvita proposed the vote of thanks.
After the formal program, ice breaking session and action songs were conducted for the youths. This was followed by group formation. A total of 8 groups were formed.
The first session was conducted by Rev Fr Stany Pinto on the topic 'Leadership'. He expressed his ideas of leadership qualities and explained the importance of having hope on oneself. He also narrated various examples of having hope and being courageous. He exclaimed that every opportunity in life must be taken as a challenge and one must use them to the fullest and be a better version of themselves.
The second session was conducted by Mrs Lydia on Drug addiction. The speaker explained the ill effects of drugs and gave examples of the things used in day to day life which have narcotic effects. She also urged to undergo counseling incase of such addiction related cases. She explained the importance of being alert and also asked the youth to report such cases to the elders of the church so that necessary actions can be taken to save the youth from such social evils. She also narrated the importance of prayer and about having healthy peer bonds.
A lot of fun activities and games were also conducted by the members of ICYM. Overall it was a fun-filled day which was showered with zeal, enthusiasm and joy. Around 130 youth participated in the program. It was a successful program and all of them enjoyed every bit of the event.
Youth who come together and learn together will stay together and therefore will establish themselves as the pillars of a socially good society.
