Mangaluru, Jan 13 : The "Students Empowering Students" program was successfully conducted on January 11, 2025, across various classrooms, emphasizing the unique concept of students serving as resource persons. This initiative aimed to inspire and equip first-year students with essential leadership and peer motivation skills to enhance their day-to-day activities.

Eighteen student trainers from the final-year B.Com program facilitated interactive sessions across eight classrooms, tailoring activities and discussions to their respective audiences. Each session blended theoretical insights with hands-on activities, ensuring an engaging and practical learning experience.

  • I BA Students
    Facilitators: Ms. Preemal Monis and Ms. Pooja K (III BCom ACCA)
    Activities included icebreakers, team-building games, and activities focused on active listening, communication, and overcoming communication barriers. Games like "Creating a Story with One Word," "Guess the Five-Letter Word," and "Cross-Hand Puzzle" ensured active participation and skill development.
  • I BCom Regular Students
    Facilitators: Ms. Sheikh Al Mufrin, Ms. Risha Nazareth, and Ms. Sabina Rachel D’Souza (III BCom Regular)
    The session explored leadership and motivation through games like "Johnny Says," the Human Knot, and Pictionary, emphasizing critical thinking, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • I CMA, Logistics, Fintech, and Business Analytics Students
    Facilitators: Ms. Snehal D’Souza, Ms. K.R. Nidhi, and Ms. Tejaswini R. Chimbda (III BCom Regular)
    Activities such as charades, debates, and "Act the Scene" fostered teamwork, critical thinking, creativity, and spontaneity.
  • I BCA ‘A’ Students
    Facilitators: Ms. Shebelle Christina Goveas and Ms. S. Navyashree (III BCom ACCA)
    The session included a talk on leadership, a Blind Trust Walk game, SWOT analysis, and peer motivation activities, culminating in a fun game with chocolates as rewards.
  • I BCA ‘B’ Students
    Facilitators: Ms. Vinitha Rodrigues and Ms. Smithashree S (III BCom ACCA)
    Leadership skills were demonstrated through activities like tableau acts and communication-related exercises. Peer motivation discussions included shared personal stories of inspiration.
  • I ACCA and Professional Students
    Facilitators: Ms. Sheryl Sequeira (III BCom ACCA) and Mr. Kowshik Shetty (II BCom CMA)
    Activities included case studies on leadership, games to test listening skills and communication, and interactive exercises like "One Lie, Two Truths" and "Pick and Speak," focusing on confidence and problem-solving.
  • I BBA Students
    Facilitators: Ms. Derisha Melissa Sequeira and Ms. Sanjana Bajal (III BCom ACCA)
    Icebreakers, decision-making scenarios, and leadership skits allowed students to demonstrate their understanding of leadership and peer motivation.
  • I BSc Students
    Facilitators: Ms. Fencita Rodrigues and Ms. Samantha Gras (III BCom CMA)
    Activities included skits on leadership qualities, communication exercises, and peer motivation discussions. The session concluded with student feedback.

The "Students Empowering Students" initiative achieved its objectives by creating an engaging platform for peer learning. The active participation, enthusiasm, and positive feedback from the students, coupled with the resource persons' effective facilitation, made this program a grand success.
