Mangaluru, Nov 1, 2024 : St. Theresa's School celebrated the 69th Karnataka Rajyotsava with vibrant festivities, proudly honouring Karnataka's culture, language, and heritage. Dr. Roshan M., Head of General Medicine at Fr. Muller Medical College Hospital, was the esteemed chief guest and was welcomed with a formal guard of honour. He was accompanied by the Principal Sr. Lourdes, Vice Principal Sr. Reena, and PTA Vice President Mrs. Collette Cabral.

The celebration began with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag, followed by an impressive cultural program in the main hall. A traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, led by Dr. Roshan and the school faculty, added reverence to the occasion. Aldreena Rodrigues from Class 9 warmly welcomed the chief guest, and Allen Vas from Class 10 gracefully introduced him to the gathering.

Students presented a vibrant and diverse array of cultural performances, including songs and dances. A poignant skit illustrated the injustices faced by the underprivileged, while students danced to the theme from the Mahabharata: "Truth Always Triumphs Over Evil." The highlight of the event was the iconic Pili Vesha, or tiger dance—a treasured folk tradition from coastal Karnataka—that captivated the audience with its energy and cultural richness.

In his address, Dr. Roshan commended the students for their outstanding performances and encouraged them to take pride in the Kannada language, preserving its legacy for generations to come. Sr. Lourdes, in her message, congratulated the students for their performances and urged them to uphold traditional values and culture. She also extended her gratitude to the Kannada teachers for their guidance and dedication in organizing the programme with such passion. The event concluded with heartfelt thanks to all participants and attendees, leaving a memorable tribute to Karnataka's rich cultural heritage.
