Udupi, Nov 1 : On November 1st, 2024, St. Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE) hosted a vibrant celebration of Deepavali and Kannada Rajyotsava, a harmonious blend of traditions and cultures. This grand ceremony was organized by the enthusiastic students of Grade 4A in collaboration with the Kannada Club and was graced by the presence of Mrs. Vasanthi Ambalpady, a distinguished lecturer at St. Cecily’s PU College.
The ceremony commenced with an enchanting prayer service, illuminated by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by the chief guest, Mrs. Vasanthi Ambalpady, Principal Sr. Lathika, sisters, faculty members, and student leaders. The air was filled with spiritual harmony as students from Grade 4A presented a soulful prayer song along with verses from the Bhagavad Gita, the Bible, and the Quran.
Briona warmly welcomed Mrs. Ambalpady, the school’s leaders, teachers, and fellow students, while Bhuvan expressed gratitude by gifting a sapling to the chief guest. The program then unfolded with a series of spirited performances, beginning with a vibrant dance capturing the joy of Deepavali, followed by a dance-drama portraying the five days of Deepavali rituals. An energetic performance by the Kannada Club celebrated the pride and spirit of Kannada culture.
The event also honored the winners of the Annual Sports Meet, with Mrs. Vasanthi awarding the certificates. In her address, Mrs. Vasanthi delivered an inspiring message on the importance of Deepavali’s values and the rich heritage of the Kannada language.
The celebration concluded on a warm note with Shatadhrati, a Grade 9 student, offering a heartfelt vote of thanks, leaving the gathering uplifted by the unity, pride, and joy that defined the occasion.
