Mangaluru, Sep 13 : St. Theresa School organized an educational trip for Class 9, from 29th August to 3rd September 2024. The trip aimed to provide students with a rich blend of learning, exposure, and recreation.The visit to the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant was one of the highlights of the educational trip, offering students a rare glimpse into the world of nuclear energy. Located on the southern tip of India, this power plant is one of the largest nuclear facilities in the country. Upon arrival, the students were welcomed by the plant's officials, who provided an introduction to the importance of nuclear power as a sustainable energy source.

The visit commenced with an informative session explaining how nuclear energy is harnessed to produce electricity. Students were briefed on the safety measures employed at the plant, the process of nuclear fission, and how the power generated here supports India's energy needs. The session was interactive, allowing students to ask questions and engage in discussions about the future of renewable energy and the role nuclear power plays in reducing carbon emissions.

Following the session, the group was taken on a guided tour of the facilities, where they observed some of the control rooms, reactors, and cooling systems. The tour emphasized the intricate technology used and the precision required to maintain a safe environment in a nuclear plant. The experience was eye-opening, as students gained an understanding of how science, technology, and engineering converge to meet energy demands. The visit concluded with a discussion on career opportunities in the nuclear energy sector, leaving the students inspired by the possibilities that lie ahead.

Beyond the educational aspects, the trip was filled with fun and excitement. The students explored iconic locations such as the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Jatayu Earth Centre, which blended cultural history with stunning natural beauty.

Finally the trip brought the group to Kochi, where they spent a thrilling day at Wonderla Amusement Park. After several days of learning, the rides and water-based activities at Wonderla offered the perfect chance for the students to unwind.

This educational trip provided the students with a holistic learning experience, fostering curiosity, teamwork, and exposure to historical, cultural, and scientific insights. The teachers ensured that students remained engaged and disciplined throughout the journey, making it a fruitful experience for all.
