Mangaluru, July 12 : As a part of the curriculum, on 11th July,2024 the students of Ladyhill Victoria Girls’ Composite P.U. College were acquainted with the legal concepts of POCSO Act and also Prohibition of Child Marriage. These issues are often in the news and the children under 18 should be educated about the prevailing evils of society.

Mrs. Radhika Nayak, Student Counsellor of Ladyhill Victoria P.U.College addressed the students and highlighted the features of POCSO Act and also mentioned the various situations in our day to day life where the girls are abused. She also expressed about the severity of punishment for child marriage and yet, it exists in our Indian culture for commercial benefits. The outcome of the programme was good and the students and the lecturers liked the session very much.

Sr. Shermila A.C., Vice Principal welcomed the guest and the audience.

Zulaika Shahina, secretary for Cultural and Literary proposed the vote of thanks.

Mrs. Seema Sheikh, Lecturer in Biology organised the event.
