Mangaluru, June 26 : The inauguration ceremony for various clubs at Nazareth School, Balmatta was held on June 22, 2024, in the school Auditorium. This event introduced students to both new and existing clubs, emphasizing the importance of extracurricular involvement in fostering personal growth, teamwork, and a vibrant school community.

The ceremony began with a keynote speech by Sr. Marceline Dsouza, the Principal of Nazareth School and she highlighted the role of extracurricular activities in complementing academic learning, enhancing students' skills, and building character. She encouraged students to actively participate in club activities to make the most of their school experience.

Club Inaugurations : 
1. Literary Club

  • Incharge: Mrs.Preethi K, Mrs.Sonia Dsouza, Mrs.Carline
  • Vision: To cultivate a passion for reading, writing, and literature.
  • Activities: Book readings, writing workshops, literary debates, and poetry recitals.

2. Eco Club

  • Incharge: Mrs. Sonia Gonsalves & Mrs.Anisha
  • Vision: To promote environmental consciousness and sustainable practices.
  • Activities: Tree planting drives, recycling programs, clean-up campaigns, and environmental education sessions.

3. Science Club

  • Incharge: Mrs.Shalma & Mrs.Divya
  • Vision: To foster curiosity and innovation in the fields of science and technology.
  • Activities: Science fairs, project presentations, guest lectures, and hands-on experiments.

4. Maths Club

  • Incharge: Ms. Aldrisha & Mrs.Vijitha
  • Vision: To encourage mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Activities: Math competitions, puzzle-solving challenges, interactive workshops, and math Olympiads.

5. Choir Club

  • Incharge: Ms.Cherryl, Mrs.Veena & Mr.Prem
  • Vision: To nurture musical talent and appreciation for vocal performance.
  • Activities: Choir practices, school concerts, musical events, and vocal training sessions.

6. Bulbul Club& Cubs

  • Incharge: Mrs.Nayana & Mrs.Shreya / Mrs.Sowmya & Mrs.Renita
  • Vision: To instill values of community service, leadership, and teamwork in young girls.
  • Activities: Craft sessions, community service projects, outdoor activities, and leadership development workshops.

7. Scouts and Guides Club

  • Incharge: Mrs.Preethi & Mrs.Prashanthi / Mrs.Precilla & Mrs.Preetha
  • Vision: To develop character, citizenship, and physical fitness among students.
  • Activities: Camping trips, survival skills training, community service, and team-building exercises.

8. Parliament Club

  • Incharge: Mrs.Sharitha & Mrs.Nathalia
  • Vision: To foster an understanding of democratic processes and leadership skills.
  • Activities: Mock parliamentary sessions, debates on current issues, leadership training, and civic education workshops.

9. Fire & Safety

  • Incharge: Mrs.Asha & Mrs.Laveena
  • Vision: - Education and Awareness, Preparedness and Response, Community Engagement, Advocacy and Policy influence, Innovation and Best       Practices, Support and Resources, Continuous Improvement
  • Activities: Fire Safety Workshops, Evacuation Drills ,First Aid Training, Safety Poster Competitions, Fire Safety Quizzes and Games, Field Trips, Safety Equipment Demonstrations, Creating Safety Plans, Guest Speakers, Fire Safety Skits and Plays, Awareness Campaigns,

10. Art & Craft

  • Incharge: Mrs. Placita & Mrs.Sushma
  • Vision: - Creativity and Innovation, Inclusive Community, Skill Development and Education, Cultural Appreciation and Diversity, Personal Growth and Expression, Collaboration and Teamwork, Innovation and Sustainability
  • Activities:. Painting and Drawing Sessions, Clay Modeling, Recycled Art Projects, Collage Making, Art Appreciation Sessions, Seasonal and Holiday Crafts, Group Mural Painting,

Several students shared their experiences, expressing how participation in club activities has enriched their school life. They highlighted the friendships formed, skills acquired, and the sense of community fostered through these clubs.

The event concluded with National Anthem.
