Nirmalpadav - Parapady, April 14 : Parishioners of Our lady of perpetual succour church , Nirmalpadau commemorated Palm Sunday on 13th April 2025, marking the commencement of Holy Week. The solemn occasion celebrated Jesus Christ's victorious entry into Jerusalem, an event that preceded his subsequent arrest and crucifixion.

At around 8:30 am, all parishioners gathered in front of Lady of Perpetual  Grotto where the ritual of blessing of the palms was conducted by  Very Rev Fr. Reginald Pinto, Director ,Sampada along with Rev Fr. Denis Dsouza Parish Priest.

Following a short prayer service and reading of the passage from the Gospel narrating the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, Fr. Reginald Pinto  blessed the palms. Thereafter, the entry congregation went towards the Cathedral along with altar boys and priests.

The procession signifies the Jew's welcoming of Jesus into Jerusalem. Following their example, we proclaim Jesus as Victory, "Hosanna to the Son of David, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord".

The Holy Eucharistic Celebration was celebrated by Rev Fr. Reginald and concelebrated by Rev Fr Denis Dsouza , Parish Priest.

The service focused on the significance of Christ's sacrifice and the anticipation of his resurrection, which are central tenets of the Christian faith.

The New statue of Mother Mary , was blessed before placing it on the grotto  by Rev Fr Reginald pinto along with Rev Fr Denis Dsouza with short prayer service , parishioners also offered prayers to mother Mary.
