Puttur, 13 June : In a community event on June 12, 2024, the Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research at St Philomena College, Puttur, and the Gram Panchayat Ariadka inaugurated their joint Educational Rural Camp. The ceremony took place at the Shri Krishna Bhajana Mandir in Kaudicharu, marking a collaborative effort aimed at fostering educational development and social values among students.

The event was presided over by the Honorable Principal of St Philomena College, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro. Distinguished guests included Santhosh Maniyani, President of Gram Panchayat Ariadka, Ammanna Rai, an esteemed ex-serviceman from Papemajalu, Vasu Pujari, President of the Restoration Committee of Sri Krishna Bhajan Mandir and Meenakshi, Vice President of Gram Panchayat Ariadka.

Santhosh Maniyani expressed pride in hosting the educational camp within the Ariadka Gram Panchayat, highlighting its unique position among the numerous Gram Panchayats in the Puttur taluk. Other community leaders, including Ammanna Rai and Meenakshi, echoed his sentiments, emphasizing the potential of the camp to enhance communal ties and personal development.

Rev Dr Monteiro elaborated on the objective of the Camp to cultivate humanity and ethical values among participants.

Rachel and her team rendered prayer and a warm welcome extended by Shrimani, the Coordinator from the Department of Post Graduate Social Work.

Shiv Karthik proposed a vote of thanks. The students and faculty from various departments, including Post Graduate Social Work and Physics participated in the camp.
