Lingarajapuram - Bengaluru, June 5 : St. Charles Women's PU College, Lingarajapuram in Bengaluru commemorated World Environment Day on 5th June 2024 with a unique and impactful initiative - a street play performed at Halasooru Lake to raise awareness about environmental preservation. The play served as a creative and engaging platform to educate the public on the importance of protecting our planet.
The event was organised under the Leadership of the Principal Dr. Sr. Nancy Cutinho SCB, Principal, assisted by Staff and Students. The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Aparna Pujari, an eco-entrepreneur, who served as the chief guest. Her presence highlighted the college's commitment to promoting sustainable practices and environmental consciousness.
During the celebration, Mrs. Aparna Pujari unveiled an innovative concept - manufacturing paper pencils with seeds embedded in them. This eco-friendly initiative aligns perfectly with the principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (the 3Rs) and serves as a practical example of sustainable living.The Manager of St. Charles Women's PU College Sr.Lucy Mascarenhas SCB was also present at this occasion and received saplings from the students.
