Mangaluru, May 22, 2024 : 'Gramalok', a literary programme, organised by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi in association with Konkani Writers and Artists Association (KWAA), was held at White House Bela here on Saturday, May 18. Young Konkani writer and poet Stany Bela presided over the programme. Noted poets Raju Ukkinadka, Ravi Kumar Crasta, Raju Kidoor and Vani Crasta presented their poems with their literary thoughts.
In his presidential address, Stany Bela said, "Gramalok is a unique literary programme initiated by Sahitya Akademi. This programme may help to bring the literary enthusiasts of a particular village under one roof. At the same time this will encourage budding writers to present their literary works in front of their own people. This is the second time Sahitya Akademi has come to Kasaragod with Gramlok in the Konkani language. It is a special experience for all of us."
Melvyn Rodrigues elaborated the concept of 'Gramalok' and welcomed the dignitaries and poets. Vincent Pinto lauded the Sahitya Akademi for its various innovative programmes which are mainly concentrated on rural areas.
