Range firing is an important and compulsory training for all the NCC cadets. Weapon training is a very important part of NCC where cadets learn the art of shooting. This is done so that the fear of firearms can be removed from the minds of the cadets. The art of shooting teaches precision, accuracy, coordination of body movements, confidence and holistic development of a cadet which helps to make a better person in public.
Sr Shaila inaugurated the range firing area, the dignitaries then lighted the Diya. Fr Vivian Rodrigues proceeded with the prayers and blessings.
The NCC students along with the Permanent Instructor , Subedhar Patil demonstrated the range firing zone.
A special programme was organized to felicitate the dignitaries and to honour the outgoing senior NCC cadets. The programme began with the welcome note by the students.
The chief guest encouraged the participants with his invigorating speech. Our correspondent in her speech said that the NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, and commitment and calls for discipline which helps in a secular outlook and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by senior cadets followed by the National Anthem.
