Moodbidri, March 15 : The spirit of camaraderie and service took center stage on March 12, 2024, as Carmel school Moodbidri hosted a day's camp for the students of Cubs and Bulbuls , Scouts and Guides. The event kicked off with a dignified flag hoisting ceremony in the main ground, embodying the essence of unity and pride.
The students were then directed to assemble in the school auditorium, where a short but impactful formal program unfolded. Keerthan, a charismatic student from Grade 10A, efficiently assumed the role of Master of Ceremony, steering the event with enthusiasm and grace. The school event showcased a harmonious blend of spiritual elements with a prayer dance by guide students, symbolizing enlightenment through the lighting of the lamp by leaders from four units, accompanied by lively performances such as a welcome dance by the Bulbul wing and expressive dances by the Cubs wing on laws, promises, and mottos, culminating in a captivating mime show on discipline by the Scout wing. Sujan, also from Grade 10A, extended a warm welcome to the participants, setting the tone for the day's festivities. Sr Preena A.C.,the Vice Principal and Sr Ranitha,the coordinator graced the occasion with their presence. The highlight of the event was the esteemed Chief Guest, Mrs. Bharathi Nayak, Secretary of the Local Association in Moodbidri. Her presence added a sense of importance and inspiration to the occasion. The chief guest delivered an inspiring message, weaving a moral story to highlight the importance of facing challenges and instilling values for success in life.
The program featured insightful speeches, highlighting the values of scouting and guiding, emphasizing leadership, and community service. Students engaged in various team-building activities, fostering a sense of cooperation and mutual understanding. The session was enriched with action songs and engaging storytelling, imparting crucial values for students to embrace.
Following the inspirational session, each group enthusiastically participated in various activities, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. Post lunch, craft classes conducted by Tr. Telita and Tr Reema added a creative touch to the camp experience. Dhruvi Roopa, from grade 7A, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, teachers, and fellow students for making the event memorable. The Secretary of the Local Association, Mrs. Bharathi Nayak, commended the school for organizing such a meaningful and well-executed camp . The day concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to the principles of scouting and guiding.
