Mangaluru, Feb 29 : The National Science Day unfurled its majestic banner at St Agnes School CBSE, casting a spellbinding aura with the exhibition, CANVAS CHRONICLES - 2024, on February 27, 2024. This momentous occasion showcased the inventive spirit of students from grades I to VIII, casting a radiant glow upon the day's festivities. The spectacle captivated the diverse schools on the campus, leaving behind cherished memories of this grand occasion.
The program commenced with a touch of reverence, followed by a grand welcome to the Chief Guest, Mrs Prajwal Rao, the Head of the Department of Microbiology at St Agnes College (Autonomous) in Mangaluru, boasting 27 years of teaching experience and serving as the Program Officer of Youth Red Cross. The occasion was further enriched by the esteemed presence of other dignitaries, including Principal Sr Maria Sarika A.C., Vice Principal Sr Lenita Lobo A.C., Administrator Sr Edna Furtado A.C., and Coordinator Sr Sweedal Fernandes A.C. The gathering underscored the importance of the day, culminating in the inauguration of the program through the unveiling of a vibrant portrait painting of C.V. Raman, paying tribute to his groundbreaking discovery of the Raman Effect.
The distinguished guest commended the students for their innovative initiation of the event, praising their creative efforts that contributed to its success. She further emphasized the importance of science in the fabric of existence, advocating for continuous exploration. Viewing setbacks as opportunities for growth, she illuminated the path to resilience in the quest for knowledge. Recognizing the supremacy of the divine over science, she shared the reverent words of scientists who acknowledged a higher realm. The culminating moment of the event saw the Science Olympiad champions being adorned with certificates and medals by the esteemed guest.
The exhibition featured a captivating array of innovative models from various fields such as Science and Social Science, showcasing topics like the Solar system, Water cycle, Modes of transport, Medicinal plants, Phases of the moon, Parliament house, Important industries, Chandrayan, Hydraulic lifts, Layers of the Earth, Robots, Rainwater harvesting models, Home security systems, Day and Night rotations, Kidney Dialysis, Respiratory system, Traffic signals, Mathematical models on fractions and Algebraic expressions, Abacus models, Weighing scales, Clocks, Shapes, and fractions. Moreover, the Art and Craft section added a vibrant touch to the event with its colourful artefact. Notably, the spotlight was on the student-created spot paintings, each artefact serving as a testament to the students' talents. The exhibition not only provided a platform for showcasing innovative models but also served as a hub of knowledge and creativity.
Fathima Riza, in her role as the event's host, held the audience spellbound with her captivating elegance. Rishan Maria tenderly greeted the guests, while Shannan Saldanha underscored the significance of the day. Bringing the curtains down, Fathima Alisha bestowed a Gratitude Charm upon all, thanking each for their part in weaving the threads of this profound spectacle, which culminated in a triumphant crescendo.
