Moodbidri, Jan 18 : On 20th of December 2023, Carmel School's Grade 6A and 6B students, accompanied by their class teachers embarked on a transformative service learning activity. With a mission to make a positive impact on the environment, 60 enthusiastic students visited the Range Forest Office in Moodbidri.

Engaging with an insightful officer, students learnt about the invaluable benefits of trees, the importance of plantation, maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings, and the detrimental effects of plastic usage and junk food consumption. The officer's vivid examples resonated with the students, fostering a profound understanding.

As part of their service learning commitment, the students took practical steps by crafting eco-friendly paper bags. These were then distributed to nearby shops, leaving the shop owners elated with the students' conscientious efforts. In addition, the students actively participated in cleaning the surrounding areas and joined a plastic awareness march.

The joy and satisfaction radiated among the students as they reflected on the impact of their service learning activities. The Carmel School's commitment to holistic education and community engagement was vividly demonstrated, leaving a lasting impression on both students and the local community.
