Mangaluru, Oct 31 : A seminar for those switching fields, or seeking to solve real-world problems or driven to define their own success was organised by the ICYM central council. Starting a business is a bold step for the first time. "Every gift is from God, we all have different talents and God-given gifts, but they are all important and can be used for God's kingdom", says James 1:17.
On 30th October 2022, Indian Catholic Youth Movement Mangalore Diocese organized Bags of Gold (Mathew 25:14-30) – A Entrepreneurship Training program at LEKSA lightings Pvt Ltd Ashwathapura. Mr Ronald Silvan D’Souza, Executive Director, LEKSA Lighting Pvt ltd Ashwathapura, a successful entrepreneur who started from ZERO was the resource person of the program.
Formal Inauguration was done by a light show and also by lighting the lamp. Fr Vincent Sequeira briefed about the purpose behind the seminar. ICYM theme song was played with the music and lights. Wilma Viola Lobo introduced the resource person.
Resource person Mr Ronald Silvan D’Souza, shared his highly motivational story of how he set up his business. To help youngsters he explained from his vast experience of
- How to set up a business (startup) professionally.
- Compliance and due diligence required for startups.
- Small beginnings and greater ends - how to grow into a bigger business from scratch?
Rev Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza-Director ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Dr Vincent Sequiera , Professor at St Joseph's Seminary Jeppu, and Director of Biblical Commission, Assistant Director Mangala Jyothi, and Fr Sunil D’Souza, Lecturer at Pompei College Kirem and Director of ICYM Kinnigoli Deanery, Central Council members and 30 youth from all over the diocese were present for the training programme.
Fr Vincent Sequeira and Fr Sunil D’Souza led the prayer session. Anil John Sequiera -President ICYM Mangalore Diocese welcomed the gathering. Brendon Cutinha , nominated member of DEXCO compered and delivered the vote of thanks. Certificates were also distributed to the participants.
