Mangaluru, June 12 : The thirteenth day of the Tredicina preceding the annual feast of St Anthony of Padua was held on June 12, 2024, at St Anthony Shrine, Milagres Church, Mangaluru.

Rev. Fr Andrew DSouza, parish priest, Bajal Church celebrated the Holy Eucharist and prayed for the labourers along with Rev. Fr Gilbert Dsouza and Rev. Fr Avinash Lesly Pais, St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu.

Father Andrew delivered a sermon on the theme, "Unceasing and Faithful Prayer Yields Fruit." He emphasized that consistent and heartfelt prayer strengthens our relationship with God and brings about profound spiritual growth. He encouraged the congregation to remain steadfast in their prayers, assuring them that faith-filled, continuous prayer can lead to blessings and positive changes in their lives. Through prayer, he explained, we can find guidance, comfort, and strength to overcome life's challenges.

At the end of the mass, Fr Gilbert DSouza, Chaplin of the Ashram led the novena in honour of St Anthony, during which the special intercession of the session was sought for the various needs and prayer intentions of the devotees.

Choir members of Bajal parish led the choir and joined in the thanksgiving. Payasam (sweet dish) was served to all the devotees who attended the devotion.

Grand Annual Feast of St Anthony of Padua Tommorow (13.06.2024)

Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao, Bishop of Shimoga, will celebrate the festal Mass at 11 AM at St. Anthony Ashram Jeppu. Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, will be the main celebrant for the festive Holy Mass at 6 PM at Milagres Church.

Other Masses on the feast day include:

- 6:00 AM (Konkani) at St. Anthony Ashram Jeppu, celebrated by Very Rev. Msgr. Maxim L. Noronha, Vicar General.
- 8:15 AM (Konkani) at Milagres Church, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Walter Dsouza, Parish Priest of Bendur.
- 4:30 PM (Malayalam) at Milagres Church, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Vipin William, Secretary and Director of the Communication Centre, Kannur Diocese.
