Bondel, April 7, 2025 – In a profound celebration of faith and unity, the Catholic Sabha Bondel Unit and City Varado, under their dynamic leadership, jointly organized a four-hour spiritual retreat, Journey of Grace, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St Lawrence Church and Shrine, Bondel.
The retreat, held on Sunday, April 6, at 4 p.m., drew a large gathering of faithful who came together in prayer and reflection. The evening began with a session of praise and worship led by Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza Parish Priest of Bondel Parish & choir master Br John, setting the spiritual tone for the retreat. This was followed by a solemn Way of the Cross, allowing the participants to meditate on Christ's passion and sacrifice led by city Varado members.
The retreat was prayerfully led by Rev. Fr Sunil Praveen Pinto, who guided the faithful through a day of reflection and renewal. The Eucharistic Celebration at 6:00 p.m., presided over by Fr Sunil, Parish Priest of St. Paul Church, Delanthabettu, was the spiritual high point of the day. He delivered a soul-stirring homily, emphasizing the essence of grace and renewal, especially in the context of the Jubilee Year.
Following the Mass, the faithful participated in a deeply moving Eucharistic Adoration, which offered a profound moment of divine connection and spiritual rejuvenation, leaving hearts filled with peace and gratitude.
A notable aspect of the event was the overwhelming participation of the members of the Catholic Sabha City Varado, who came together in large numbers, displaying a strong sense of community and devotion.
Mr Wilfred Alvares, in his heartfelt vote of thanks, expressed deep gratitude to Rev. Fr Sunil for powerfully conducting the retreat and to Rev. Fr Andrew for his constant guidance and support. He extended his appreciation to Rev. Fr Fredrick Monteiro, Parish Priest of Angelore, and Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves, Principal of St. Lawrence English Medium School, for their gracious presence and encouragement.
A special thanks was offered to Br John for leading the melodious choir, along with all the dedicated choir members who uplifted the retreat through their music. Mr Alvares also acknowledged the efforts of the Media Committee, especially Alrick D'Silva and Jason Fernandes, for capturing and sharing the moments meaningfully.
Gratitude was extended to the Catholic Sabha Bondel Unit, with sincere thanks to the unit president Mr Stephen D'Silva & Mr Sujay D'Silva President elect . He also thanked all the committed members of the Catholic Sabha who worked tirelessly to make the retreat a grace-filled and memorable event for all.
Rev. Fr Fredrick Monteiro shared a few inspiring words, reminding everyone that "our journey is obtained by the grace of God". He acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the Catholic Sabha and wished them continued success in all their future endeavors.
Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza led the community in a heartfelt prayer before the meal and the Angelus, bringing a spiritual conclusion to the day's enriching moments.
As the retreat came to an end, everyone shared a fellowship meal, expressing their heartfelt love, like a family.
