Mangaluru, March 9 : On March 8th, Jeevandhara Social Service Trust, Kulshekar and Shubadha Society, Suralpady jointly organized a remarkable Women's Day celebration at Sacred Heart School, Kulshekar bringing together 80 women from 12 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from diverse walks of life monitored by both the Trusts. The event was a soul-lifting experience for all the participants, creating an atmosphere of empowerment and celebration.
The day began with a heartfelt prayer led by the Shanthi SHG, followed by a warm and gracious welcome speech by Sr. Ileene Joy, the Coordinator in Jeevandhara Social Service Trust, Kulshekar who set the tone for the event. The program included various activities, including singing competitions and fun-filled games, ensuring that the day was both enjoyable and meaningful.
A key highlight of the celebration was the session by Dr Sr Mable D'Mello, the resource person, who inspired the women to realize their worth and the respect they deserve as individuals and as women. She encouraged them to value themselves and extend that respect to others. She also empowered the women by emphasizing their potential to uplift and empower fellow women, thus fostering a change in society.
The event was rounded off with a vote of thanks delivered by Bharathi the Social Worker of Jeevandhara Social Service Trust, Kulshekar, followed by a sumptuous meal enjoyed by all participants. Thanks to the dedicated support from the MSW students of Roshani Nilaya and St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), whose assistance made the event more lively.
The Women's Day celebration was a memorable and empowering experience for all involved, reminding everyone of the power of women coming together to create a positive impact on their lives and the community.
