Moodbidri, Sep 23 : In a heartwarming ceremony held after the 7:30 pm Holy Mass on September 22, three eminent parishioners of the Corpus Christi Church were honored for their remarkable contributions to society.

Among the recipients was Mrs. Mabel Fernandes, wife of Mr. Clifford D’Costa from St. Antony Ward. Mrs.Mabel , a dedicated government school teacher for 30 years, has worked tirelessly for the betterment of schoolchildren. Her initiatives have led to significant improvements in the school infrastructure with the support of donors and sponsors. She has also served as a resource teacher, earning the Best Teacher Award from the government for her outstanding contributions.

Mrs. Ida Pereira, wife of Mr. Urban D’Souza from Velankanni Ward, was also recognized for her 30 years of service in the government school system. She has played a key role in increasing student admissions and securing essential government amenities for her school, enhancing the learning environment for many children.

The third honoree, Mr. Clario Sushmith D’Souza, son of Mr. Saturine and Mrs. Celine D’Souza from Lourdes Ward, was recognised for his social work. A young businessman, Mr. Clario has led various blood donation campaigns and played an active role as a COVID-19 warrior. His public service includes serving as Youth Congress Secretary in Moodbidri and District KPCC Social Media Secretary. Recently, he was nominated as a member of the Moodbidri Municipality.

They were honoured by Rev Fr Onil D’Souza and parish council members of Corpus Christi church.

The event was a touching acknowledgment of their dedication and service to both the Church and the broader community.
