Bantwal, Sep 5, 2024 : On Sunday 1st September, the ICYM unit of Infant Jesus Church, Bantwal  organized an event called ' Gadyanth Sambhram' featuring sports in the fields that was organized to create awareness among youth about ploughing, seedling, and our culture.

The event began with a grand march past by 15 wards with traditional wear & items on the field.

The inaugural program was presided over by Fr. Valerian Dsouza (Parish Priest). Fr. Lancy Dsouza (Assistant Parish Priest ), Mr Sunil Veigas (vice president of Infant Jesus Church) , Mr. Manohar D costa (secretary of Infant Jesus Church), Mr. Sunil Lewis (ICYM animator), Mr. Arrol  Sequeira ( President of ICYM Bantwal deanery) and Fr. Ashwin Crasta showed their presence on the dais.

The youth then raised their hearts and minds to the Almighty God through a Prayer Song. Mr.Ronan D cunha  welcomed the gathering. ICYM secretary Mr. Ashwin Lobo delivered the vote of thanks and Mr.Melroy Dsouza  was the emcee of the inaugural program.

Mr.Rikson Tauro, ICYM President appreciated and thanked the sponsors and Mr.Joseph Dsouza and his Family for lending the paddy field for conducting the games and felicitated them.

Fr.Ashwin Crasta and Mr.Arrol Sequeira conducted the games.

Throughout the day, individual, paired, and group games were conducted for different age groups. The paddy field was filled with cheer and excitement as each event result was announced by Mr.Arrol Sequeira with a lively baila dance.

Breakfast and lunch was provided to all the parishioners.
