Surathkal, Aug 22 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement Surathkal unit, along with Youth Catholic Students(YCS), organized "Youth Meraki 2024," one-day program for all the youth of Sacred Heart parish, Surathkal on August 18th, 2024, at Holy Family School Auditorium.
Very Rev. Fr.Austin Peter Peres Vicar Forane of Surathkal Deanery and the Director of ICYM Surathkal , Deanery Director Rev. Fr.Richard Dsouza, Founder and Executive Director LEKSA Lightening technologies Pvt Ltd Mr Ronald Silvan Dsouza, Parish Pastoral Council Secretary Mrs Asha Pinto, PPC commissions' Coordinator Mr Norbert Misquith, Youth Commission Convenor Mr Sandeep Dsouza, ICYM Animator Ms Teena Rebello, YCS Animator Ms Shamitha Machado, ICYM President Mr Ajith Dsouza, ICYM Secretary Ms Daina Dsouza, Deanery President Mr Keith Lobo and Deanery Secretary Ms Maria Dsilva were present on the dais.
The programme was inaugurated by unveiling the banner of Meraki with helium balloons by the dignitaries.
In his inaugural address Mr Ronald motivated the youth to have their own identity so that people wait for them.
In his chief guest Fr Richard said, youth must know their essence , empower oneself , turn Meraki into a miracle.
In the presidential address , Very Rev Fr Austin briefly explained about ‘Meraki’ and gave life examples about it.
Mr Ronald Silvan, Founder and Executive Director, LEKSA Lightening technologies Pvt Ltd gave an interactive session on Youth Empowerment. He was felicitated for his remarkable achievements in Lighting Technologies.
ICYM Bejai unit members conducted group activities, games and action songs.
The Surathkal Deanery ICYM office bearers took part in the programme.
Surathkal ICYM members sang the prayer song. ICYM Cultural Secretary Ms Vinola Delina Crasta compeered the programme. ICYM Surathkal President Mr Ajith Dsouza welcomed all the dignitaries. Mr Arson, a member of ICYM gave the citation and ICYM Secretary Daina Dsouza proposed vote of thanks.
70 youths from the parish took part in the entire program .
