Gustavo Zerbino is one of the 16 survivors of the plane crash in the Andes. In 1972, flight 571, in in which he was traveling with his rugby team, crashed in the Andes mountain range. This group of young Catholics formed a “ society of solidarity ‘, which would become known as the ’ society of the snow '. For 72 days they endured unimaginable conditions and freezing temperatures. Hunger and lack of food drove them to cannibalism. In the snowy mountain, the plane wreckage was indistinguishable from the snow. With no chance of rescue, two of the young men ventured on a 10-day trek across the mountain range. More than 50 years after the plane crash, Zerbino recalls that life-changing moment.
