Kuwait, March 30 : Kuwait Canara Welfare Association held its Extra-Ordinary General Body Meeting on Friday, 28 March 2025 at Indian School of Excellence, Salmiya. The meeting commenced with the opening prayer led by Veena Serrao. The main agenda of the meeting was the election of the new Executive Committee for the period 2025 – 2027.

KCWA’s president Naveen Valerian Mascarenhas welcomed all the members who were present for the meeting and thanked the members, committee members and their family, donors, sponsors for their wonderful support during his tenure. The minutes of KCWA’s last general body meeting held on 28 February 2025 was presented by the General Secretary Reena Pereira. Praveen Fernandes presented audited financial report. President Naveen Valerian Mascarenhas briefed on the achievements during his term 2023-25. Spiritual Director Fr. Avil Rosario in his address lauded the works done by KCWA.

The Election Commission members Alwyn Noronha, Lavina Furtado and Naveen Valerian Mascarenhas then began with the proceedings of electing the new committee, which is as below:

  • President: Prakash Godwin Pinto, Fajir/Belthangady
  • Vice President: Arun Jossy Dsouza, Perampally
  • General Secretary: Reena Wilma Pereira, Belvai
  • Asst. General Secretary: Vinitha Margaret Pinto, Puttur
  • Treasurer General: Smitha Suvarna, Casia
  • Treasurer – Cultural Affairs: Jinella Rodrigues, Neerude
  • Auditor: Kevin Preetam Dsouza, Miyar
  • Members Affairs Coordinator: Tressy Cutinha, Gurpur
  • Cultural Secretary: Anil Roshan Pais, Permannur
  • Education Fund Coordinator: Veena Serrao, Angelore
  • Sports Secretary: Alan Vaz, Hirgan
  • Website Administrator: Nilton Josen Dsouza, Manjeshwar
  • Public Relations Officer: Prakash Lawrence Gonsalves, Padukone
  • Immediate Past President: Naveen Valerian Mascarenhas, Bajpe

The attendees applauded the newly elected committee. Prakash Godwin Pinto KCWA’s president for the upcoming term thanked and sought everyone’s support and cooperation for a successful tenure. The newly elected committee took oath to work towards the motto of KCWA.

Naveen Mascarenhas welcomed visiting priest Fr. Ronald Cardoza with the flower bouquet and proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to Spiritual Director Fr. Avil Rosario, visiting priest Fr. Ronald Cardoza for their presence, Allan Dsouza and Harry Fernandes for the multimedia presentation, Alban Dsouza for the photography and projector, Anand Dsouza for the Sound system and Roshan Rodrigues for sound management, Blue Hill Restaurant for the sumptuous dinner and to all the members who attended the meeting in such large numbers. Grace before meal was recited by visiting priest Fr. Ronald Cardoza. Johnson D'Almeida concluded the meeting with prayer and hymn. Vice President, Arun Jossy Dsouza was the moderator. They thank the management of Indian School of Excellence, Salmiya for providing the venue to hold the meeting.
