Kulur - Mangaluru, Aug 14 : On the occasion of National Youth Sunday on August 11, 2024, all the youth of St. Antony Parish, Kulur actively participated in the 7:00 AM Holy Mass, which was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Arun J. Mendonca.
Following the Mass, a small but meaningful gathering commenced at 8:15 AM in the church's mini hall. The event began with a short prayer led by Joshwita Monteiro and Listan Pinto, setting a spiritual tone for the proceedings.
Renisha Dsouza warmly welcomed the guests, who included Rev. Fr. Victor Vijay Lobo, Parish Priest of Kulur; Rev. Fr. Arun J. Mendonca, Animator of the YCS Kulur unit; Arun Roshan Dsouza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Sunitha Victoria Dsouza, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; Dr. Vinay Rajath Dsouza, Coordinator Council of the Parish Pastoral Commissions; Suzanha Ferrao, President of ECD; Mr. Claver Dsouza, Animator of the ICYM Kulur; Listan Pinto, President of the ICYM Kulur unit; Arwin Monteiro, Secretary of the ICYM Kulur unit and Collin Dsouza, President of the YCS Kulur unit.
Highlighting the importance of the day, Listan said that National Youth Sunday teaches us to:
• Be close to God,
• Read the Bible and reflect on it, and
• Serve society and the church with God-given talents for the betterment of society.
The program also included fun games and a lively action song dance that brought joy and energy to the event.
Rev. Fr. Victor Vijay Lobo expressed gratitude to all The Youth of Kulur Parish for their active involvement.
Ishal Monteiro graciously proposed the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt appreciation to all the dignitaries, participants, and organizers who contributed to the success of the celebration. Jesmitha Dsouza efficiently served as the MC for the program.
The program concluded with the singing "ICYM anthem ," bringing the celebration to a meaningful close. After the program, refreshments were arranged for all the youths.
